Holy Fuck

That doesn’t even come close to how I feel right this moment. Nope, it does not.

A warning before you all go any further. This will be one of those rare politically driven posts, that I try to avoid. Why do I avoid them? Because in the mainstream my political views are not widely acceptable or “in”. I am a registered Republican, but as of late I’ve been wanting to give ALL political parties the finger. I have been very upset with them all in how they have handled this country we’ve given them permission to run for us. Frankly, I wish the elections were now and not in November. None of them would have a job in DC. Not a single one. I don’t care if every last Republican in the House voted no, I am pissed at them all.

Yes, this is about the healthcare ‘reform’ bill that was passed through yesterday and is on its way to the Senate and then to President Obama’s office. It’s as good as law right now. I don’t see him vetoing his pet project that has me very concerned for the future of this country. If you don’t know what it’s all about, then shame on you! You need to start reading up now on what this bill contains and how it will affect every last American, most in a very negative way. Here are some links to help you out, and no, they are not all FOX news related:

Our local NBC affiliate: A Look At The Health Care Overhaul Bill

From Charleston’s WCSC: Obama achieves health law success that eluded past

Fox News: Health Care Reform Fight Shifts From Congress to the Courts

Yahoo! News: Analysis: Political lift of health bill uncertain

And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

I wholeheartedly agree that something must be done to our healthcare system. And soon. But much of what this bill contains scares me. One in particular is the fact that if by a certain time in, I believe, 2014, you don’t have insurance, you will be fined by the federal government, is bullshit. And I can see not many being able to afford it then, just as many cannot afford it now. Do you really think this Bill will help our economy? Not only will our own personal taxes be raised to pay for this tripe, but business will have to pay higher fees and taxes just to give into the demands of the government to make sure they cover all their employees. Thus forcing them to cut jobs. And honestly, Medicaid was a nice idea, but it went down hill quick. Do we really need to add more money to a program that people cheat and swindle to get it, when they really don’t qualify for it, yet the ones who are honest about their info are denied? I don’t know if this doctor really did write this letter, or if he is imaginary, or whatever, but this e-mail I received recently struck a nerve with me:

“Pictured below is a young physician by the name of Dr.. Starner Jones. His short two-paragraph letter to   the White House accurately puts the blame on a   “Culture  Crisis” instead of a “Health Care Crisis”.  It’s worth a   quick read:
    {Picture taken out}
        Dear Mr. President:
During my shift in the Emergency Room last night, I had   the   pleasure of evaluating a patient whose smile revealed an expensive shiny gold tooth, whose body was adorned with a wide assortment of elaborate and costly tattoos, who wore a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and who chatted on a new cellular telephone equipped with a popular R&B ringtone.
While glancing over her patient chart, I happened to notice that   her payer status was listed as “Medicaid”! During my examination of her, the patient informed me that she smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and somehow still has money to buy pretzels and beer.
And, you and our Congress expect  me to pay for this woman’s health care?  I contend that our nation’s “health care crisis” is  not the result of a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or  nurses. Rather, it is the result of a “crisis   of culture”,  a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on  luxuries and vices while refusing to take care of one’s self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance.  It is a culture based in the irresponsible credo that “I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me”.
Once you fix this  “culture crisis” that rewards irresponsibility and dependency, you’ll be amazed at how quickly our nation’s health care difficulties will disappear.

I agree fully. We need a change culturally before we can change our government so it can do what it was always meant to do, and that is serve us, the people. If we could get people to realise that there are more important things than having tatoo sleeves, cigarettes and what not (and much, much more), then they could spend that money on improving their lives, making it so they can do better, so that they don’t have to DEPEND on the government to do every little thing for them. We don’t need more mindless sheep in the pastures right now, we need more sheep dogs who are willing to fight against the wolves and make a stand to bring about REAL CHANGE AND REFORM. No more head nodders. No more not wanting to vote because you believe yours does not count. That is all BULLSHIT and a lame excuse for laziness. Votes really do count. If you knew the first thing about your own government, then you know it does. That your vote could be the one vote that does bring about change, bring about something our country needs.

Yes, I am quite upset. I posted on Twitter this morning at how upset I am culturally and politically. This is just a small portion of how I feel right now. Not only am I upset at our government, but I am upset at my country. I honestly would like to know what happened to the people that used to defend this country. And I am not talking military either. In fact this rant has nothing at all to do with them. Read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Read the other major documents that helped to found this nation. The people that helped to put that in place, and the ones who followed to make sure it would stay that way. For the People, By the People. Where are these people nowadays?

I see them peek out every now and then. Jon Stewart of the Daily Show is one that comes to mind. I may not always see eye to eye with him, but he knows how to search for the truth and rip politicians and journalists a new one when needed. I don’t care if he is a comic. He knows his shit and I respect him for that! The Tea Party protests. For the most part I agree with and like these guys. I have a few friends that partake on a regular basis, and I applaud them for it. Though, I am not happy about the ones that reportedly shouted racists remarks to several of our black Congressmen. That was not needed and makes it hard for anyone to take them seriously if they digress to such behavior. There are a few more, but they are so far and few between that it is scary.

I love this country. It is my home and I will always love and support it. But, as in any relationship, there come a time when things become strained. And right now, it’s the government AND my fellow citizens I feel this strain with. It should not be that way. We should all be working together to further this country, not set it back a couple hundred years, or turn it into something it was never meant to be. I do not want to see more socialist programs out there. I do not want to see the government gain more control. And I do want to see BIG corporations take a hit and bring their business back from over seas. I do want to see this country to go back to being what we really are: AMERICANS. I just don’t see us being capable of doing so anymore.

There is MUCH more involved in the problems with our healthcare, than just the government and needing a cultural kick in the ass. We have the pharmaceutical companies that push their new drugs on doctors who then to get more money and benefits push it on their patients. I think a lot of those in the healthcare profession have lost sight of their duty and the oath that many of them took. If memory serves right, once you are made a doctor, you have to swear to abide by the Hippocratic Oath. Not so much anymore. There are so many out there that are dealing with malpractice suits for genuine reasons, all because of the money. There are a lot out there that only became a doctor for the money. Many don’t really care about their patients, and the ones that do become so over worked that they can’t handle the workload and either retire too early, or are forced to hire help that isn’t up to snuff.

Another big problem are the patients themselves. Ever wonder why it costs big bucks to go see the doctor for a runny nose? Just ask the dumbass down the street that sued a doctor for a quick thousand or more over something not even real. Doctors, etc have to pay for malpractice insurance, lawyers, etc. Those costs go up each year on their own or because they lost a suit against them, sometimes ones that are not real. You can do a Google search for the details. It’s scary, really.

Basically we all need to get up off our asses, and stop being so mindless. We need to look at ourselves first and see where we need to make the changes in us so we can then go and make the changes in things like Healthcare. What is it that you really want for yourself? For your family? Your community? Your country? And if you really don’t care about it, then you know what? I have no use for you. You can stay, as is your right protected by the government, but I will have no use for you. You will become a waste of space and I will fight to make sure my hard-earned money does NOT make its way into your hands. You are undeserving of it. If you take a stand and fight for what you believe in, even if I don’t agree, then I have no problem in sharing. I don’t much care for lazy asses who wont do anything to help themselves and expect the rest of us to do it for them. You are the problem with this country and why we have complete idiots running the country. “Oh my vote doesn’t count!” Fuck you.

I better stop before I digress into full on bitch mode. But you all see my point right? I am just very upset and frustrated with this whole thing. I just hope that come November the people who are now angry over all of this don’t forget and go to the polls to make some people who deserve to be unemployed be so. Then maybe they can see how the rest of us live and why we don’t like what they did.
